2023 David R. Sage Award Winner: Amy Wells

Everwise is pleased to announce that Amy Wells, an Area Manager in central Indiana, is the winner of the 2023 David R. Sage Exemplary Leadership and Service Award. This award was introduced in 2018 to honor employees who demonstrate outstanding service and exceptional leadership within Everwise and our communities.

Named after David R. Sage, a dedicated member of the Everwise Credit Union Board of Directors for 36 years, including 20-years as Chairman, winners are nominated by fellow employees and selected by the Executive Management Team.

Amy has been with Everwise for 27 years, starting as a teller in the Greencastle branch. During her tenure, Amy has worked in human resources and in several branches, including serving as the manager of the Crawfordsville branch from 2007-2018. In 2018, she was promoted to her current role of area manager, and she oversees the Greencastle, Crawfordsville, Avon, Plainfield, and Allisonville branches. In addition, Amy manages the ITM department and assists with the Everwise Retail Management Trainee Team.

Amy earned this award for her unwavering service and dedication to Everwise, its members, and her community. Her fellow employees acknowledged Amy’s outstanding leadership and her unsurpassed empathy when serving members. Her infectious positive attitude allows her to impact the credit union on many levels, whether it’s serving as a leader on internal teams or working with members to provide guidance or alleviate pain points. She is an inspirational leader and role model that is deeply committed to her team’s personal and professional growth. As a mentor, Amy shares her wisdom and expertise with the next generation of leaders within the organization and her contributions help foster a culture of continuous learning and growth.

“It’s an honor to win the 2023 David R. Sage Award,” said Amy. “For more than a quarter century, Everwise has been a central part of my life. I love everything that I get to do every day. I have been given the opportunity to put my passion for people to work as a mentor and encourage my teams to learn, grow and succeed. I’ve also found so much fulfillment in helping our members achieve their financial goals. Everwise has grown so much during my time here and because of this organization, I’ve been able to grow both personally and professionally, and am so incredibly grateful for the opportunities I have been given.”

Besides her excellent work at Everwise, Amy is deeply committed to serving the community. She serves as the Chair of the Putnam County 100 Women Who Care, which raises funds for local nonprofits to improve the quality of life and economic development in the community.
